Talking Hands (2022)
Talking Hands is a duo album by Melodic Intersect’s Enayet Hossain (tabla) and Greg Hatza (piano), released September 1, 2022. Where the full band’s albums bring in a rotating cast of guest musicians, this one is built around just the conversation between two instruments — tabla and piano — across nine original tracks.
The album was celebrated with a CD release concert at An die Musik LIVE in Baltimore in February 2023, and drew reviews from six outlets: JazzDaGama, Jazz2Love, JazzWeekly, JazzJournal (UK), Take Effect, and 5 Finger Review.
“Greg Hatza plays a variety of keyboards to team with the hands of tabla man Enayet Hossain on this fragrant collection of originals.”
“A world music meets jazz fusion listen that’s never short on melody, chemistry and very meticulous interaction between the pair.”
“Triumphs in its ability to translate the abstract language of world fusion into a tangible, borderless musical odyssey” — “more than a collection of tracks; it is a beautiful musical testament to the power of unity in diversity.”
“Mostly purvey[s] dreamy yoga-jazz but it’s surpassed by one funky piece suggesting Sly Stone or Stevie Wonder.”

Hand-Talk (2021)
Hand-Talk is the first duo album from jazz keyboardist Greg Hatza and tabla player Enayet Hossain, two members of the Baltimore world-jazz group Melodic Intersect. The pair later followed it with Talking Hands (2022) and Hands Entwined (2023). Hatza’s keyboards, including the expressive ROLI, trade ideas as equals with the rhythms and colours of the tabla.
The nine tracks range from the groove of “Funking It Up” and the playful “Interplay” to the meditative “Mount Kailash” and “The Mystic” and the folk-flavoured “Village Dance”. It ends with the title track, a conversation between two pairs of hands. Released by Aimrec in 2021 (AIMCDIM429).
